The Academy for Health and Lifespan Research
Scientific Conferences Fund
The Academy for Health and Lifespan Research will support scientific meetings, conferences, and workshops relevant to our mission. The Academy will determine the final award based on a number of factors, including but not limited to the number of expected attendees, program, speaker list, duration of the meeting, and relevance to aging research and to the AHLR mission.
Eligibility
Non-profit organizations, public and private universities, colleges, laboratories and government agencies are eligible. For-profit entities or individuals are not eligible.
Criteria
The following criteria will be considered in the funding decision:
Alignment with AHLR Mission
Meeting Program/Agenda
Venue format (in-person, virtual, hybrid)
Diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility plan
Expected number of attendees
Qualifications of the meeting organizers
Past meeting success and outreach (if applicable)
Overall budget
Meeting location (if in-person)
Applications are accepted on a quarterly basis. Deadlines:

The Academy sponsorship must be acknowledged in all publicity, program materials, and any publications or proceedings directly resulting from the meeting. Copies of any publications and/or proceedings must be provided to the Academy. The meeting organizers must submit an invoice in USD. In general, complimentary registration for at least two Academy staff/board members will be required.

1. Describe scientific objective(s) and scope of meeting
2. How does the meeting align with the mission of The Academy for Health and Lifespan Research
3. How does the meeting address diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility
4. Overall budget and proposed support from The Academy
5. Other funding sources (secured and pending)
6. Meeting Program/Agenda, including confirmed and proposed speakers (attach program agenda or include link)
7. Qualifications of the meeting organizers (list of planning committee members)
8. Past meeting success and outreach (if applicable)
